'do it' on camera if he thought it would clear him. i just think the shows age rating has prevented that XD but also i think light wants to leave some seeds of doubt because he finds it fun for them to be so close but so far away from catching him at all times.

2024-12-16 22:00:30 +0000 UTCJust binged watch reactions 1-8. Death Note tends to get a lot of hate these days because "normies" love it and it being labeled a "beginner" anime. Back before anime became mainstream, Death Note was really popular among the anime community. Even now, almost 20 years later, there still aren't many S tier suspense/thriller animes that make you think and have you hooked from episode to episode. The only one of recent memory that comes to mind is the 1st season of The Promised Neverland. Anyway, glad you guys are enjoying the show. I still remember binge watching the first 13 episodes or so nearly two decades ago. Good times.

2024-12-16 21:48:31 +0000 UTCFor anyone that loves Death Note, Naoki Urasawa's masterpiece Monster should definitely be on your watch list! It's a fantastic drama also produced by Madhouse in 2004 about a neurosurgeon hunting down an intelligent serial killer, set during 1980s Germany and Czechoslovakia. Same compelling drama, cat-and-mouse game, smart characters, and the same "feel" as Death Note (real and grounded, people who don't usually like anime will enjoy it). What sets it apart from Death Note is that you follow a very likeable and genuinely kind protagonist, the story is written with real historical developments from the time period in mind, and the side cast is imo, much more compelling than DN's and they have more agency in the story. Monster's antagonist is also just THAT iconic. Even if you've never seen Monster, you've probably heard of Monster's antagonist.

I 100% believe his death note + school priorities take precedence over any βotherβ priorities π That chip eating scene really sealed my suspicions that Light was losing his mind!
