Jan Special: Arthurian Legends
Added 2025-02-09 23:53:35 +0000 UTCWell, I kinda threw ARTHUR in as a joke for the alt style challenge, but you all know what you like. So I did my best to deliver that Arthur vibe! No variable line weight? Check. No shading or texture? Check. Sweatshirts and dad jeans with cuffs at the bottom? Triple check, baby! That's just a regular day at the office for Itzel.
I was an older kid when Arthur became a hit on TV, so I never really watched it. I do, however, respect the fact that it was the first furry cartoon that a lot of people ever enjoyed. And I know enough lore to get by. Arthur is an aardvark who has a pet /dog/ and nobody looks twice. Mister Ratguy had a Gay Wedding where he Gay Married his Gay Husband (presumably named Gaylord). DW got punched right in her stupid face. And the one monkey/chimp girl grows up to be a stone cold probably-lesbian hottie.
God damn, it's weird when my characters wear shoes. Roller skates are okay.

Yeah, aging up canonically young characters and portraying their legal adult selves in loving sexual relationships is apparently a dangerous game. Silver Spoon and Sweetie Belle are in their thirties and have three kids by now? Like hell!

Sometimes I think kids TV shows that feature anthro animals (Or just talking animals) are deliberately drawn to help limit the porn done of them. It never works. The official PBS account pleading with people to stop with the adult Arthur memes was hilarious, though.
