Barbara was a troubled young wolf cub from Brooklyn, abused and neglected by her parents, finding solace only in the occasional month wherein her Aunt BeeBee would whisk her off to St. Charlies for a change of scenery. The kids of both cities were all afraid of Barbara, and for good reason; she was all anger and fangs and fists. A morality pet came in the form of the fluffy little squirrel girl who was NOT afraid of Barbara, and whom Barbara could not bring herself to bludgeon. Some people's eyes stare right into your soul and call you out. These eyes were behind glasses. Big, big glasses.
BeeBee eventually wrested custody of Barbara from the kid's rotten parents. Barbara openly credits BeeBee, Melissa and Trissie for saving her from a life of crime, and/or an early death.
