Hey, new here... I'd apply some muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid) to the back of that mirror guard.. It gives mirrors a "weathered" look, which might work really well here. (And obviously wear gloves/protective stuff dealing with acid).

For pickups, maybe a BK Holy Diver set for a hot 80s tone. For less "pop" and more of an apocalypse vibe, the battleworn finish would look great with the body. For more pop, maybe some combo of purple/green or even purple/green woodtech bobbins.

I think having the pickups distressed like the knobs would be my choice. I reckon the fallout finish you created is outstanding, I personally wouldn't want anything to distract from it. But you do you mate.

Surprised to hear myself saying it, but I’m not 100% in love with the mirror pick guard, it seems too “clean” to go with the amazing finish on the body.
Any way to age/darken it a bit?

that Pick Guard is SICK!! i think black or even a distressed grey pick up would tie it all together, maybe even both? If your going for the SHOCK & AWE, green, pink, purple or red would be my choice. Wait what about a distressed nickle to match the trem? HA HA im everywhere! I luv this stuFF!! :)

Black or green EMGs would be great.

Mirror guard with orange/yellow dimarzio super distortion would be my choice.

with mirror pick guard and the new pickups, and no new knobs, i think you are done. love some ibanez mods. ibanez in general. you finished the knobs too or is that organic wear? at any rate, dont change the knobs, either way, thems looking great. good work on the body finish as is, too (maybe do a video on how you do THAT and then how you seal it and all that, or may a swirl video). you already have the mirror pick guard but you could retreat the old pickguard with the same pattern/scheme that body already has, but i digress. id say nah nay to hot green or pink pickups, wont match the vibe of the guitar imo (but i know its the vibe of the 80s). really liked the VH panama video earlier too. if you still give 1:1 lessons, and not too big time now! ツ how much are you chargin' a fellow these days? i did a couple before and they were really good.

I used AI to create some acid worn humbuckers…
