Major Announcement: Progress Update

Hey there buddies! We're here to bring you another batch of exciting updates about the development of Camp Buddy!  We ask everyone to please take the time to read through this post as it contains a lot of information about the inquiries most of you may have!

STORY / SCRIPTWRITING

Still at our highest priority, the team has been focused more than ever on the storywriting process since it is the basic foundation of the game, and the entire development heavily relies on its completion. With our additional writer, Wade, helping with the process, we can manage more tasks at once!

Here's the current status of the scriptwriting process:

• Hiro's route: 5 months
• Yoichi's route: 2 months
• Hunter's route (Remaster) : 2 months

Natsumi's story route has an expected completion of 1 - 1.5 month. We expect the storywriting process to be finished within July 2018, or hopefully earlier.

PROGRAMMING

Our programmer, Jey, has had a continuous momentum coding/programming the already-finished routes the past two months!

Here's the current status of the programming process: 

• Hiro's route: COMPLETED (55,000 coded lines)
• Yoichi's route: Will be completed by the end of May 2018 (40,000 coded lines so far)
• Hunter's route: Set to begin by June 2018

We plan to keep the programming process continuously-running while the story is being written for the other routes!

ART

Mikkoukun and Zael have also begun the remaining art workload, working alongside the story and other aspects of the project, and with this new schedule, a handful of new drafts have been produced:

CG Scenes / Sex Scenes

As mentioned from the previous major update,  we have fully-drafted all CGs required for Hiro and Yoichi's route! We are currently working on Hunter's CGs.

Background Art

We have made additional backgrounds to better portray certain scenes, and add more locations in the camp to make the story more flexible and exciting! 

We did a little remastering of the entrance arch too~!

Sprite Art

We have also managed to complete some costume party sprites and the route-exclusive supporting characters for each of the main cast:

Hina Akiba, Mr. and Mrs. Springfield, Yuki, and Naoto Hamasaki.

We also have New Cameo Characters (final addition to the cameos) which we will introduce soon for next month's voting poll! Please stay tuned for them~!

Camp Buddy now has a total cast of: 

• 14 Main Characters
• 5 Supporting Characters
• 4 Cameos
• ??? Chibi Cameos

MUSIC, VOICE and VIDEO

Music

For the in-game music, our composer MYM is currrently remastering all of the new BGMs for better quality~! 

Meanwhile, the full (extended) version of the main theme: 'Greatest Memories' by Mimi Neko and TechniKen is in the final review stages!

Voice Acting

We have also recently hired additional voice actors for the new supporting characters! Here is an updated list of our voice actors:

As you all may have noticed, there are still uncast roles for the other supporting characters and the cameos. We will make an official recruitment thread for these voice acting positions as soon as we complete all the character's story workloads!

Video

Howl has been working with the opening video ever since the last major updates, and we're glad to announce that it's now in the final polishing stages! We are planning to publish the full opening video when the game is in the promotion phase! Thank you for your understanding and patience~!

WHEN IS THE NEXT UPDATE?

We will be scheduling a another major update once we have completed another character route! We expect it to be sometime around the end of July 2018!

WHEN IS THE GAME GOING TO BE RELEASED?

As months pass and we see the maximum pace our development team is capable of, we have arrived with a new estimate.

We are targetting to release Camp Buddy within AUGUST 2018!  

Knowing we can no longer afford to go beyond said period,  we will, above all, respect everyone's patience regarding this project and push above and beyond our abilities to make sure Camp Buddy is delivered on time.
