It's so fantastically done and like you said every shot is absolutely gorgeous. I've heard a lot about it being too slow as well, but I don't get it. It's long, but it's not slow at all. The pacing is pretty perfect. Anyway loved watching it again with you. For more lore check out the YT channel Quinn's Ideas. He has a lot of vids devoted to Dune lore. Just be careful not to go too far down the rabbit hole or you'll be spoiled. One of my favorite bits of trivia is that this is supposedly our future. The great houses trace their lineage back to Earth. The Atreides come from Spain/Greece/Ancient Rome. The Harkonnens trace back to Scandinavia. The year 10191 is actually further in our future as it is counted from an AI rebellion in our not too distant future. Comparitively speaking.

2025-09-15 21:06:57 +0000 UTCThat scene of Paul trying to stand up hitching his 1st ride on the sand worm reminded me of the first time I managed to stand up on a wakeboard. Wonder if they have wakeboards on his planet. Plenty of water and definitely fast enough tow craft. :D

In the books she remains Paul's Concubine and has Paul's children (his marriage to the Emperors daughter is purely political) both Chani and Jessica work together. There is a Dune Wiki: Fandom that can give you huge amounts of information broken up into separate categories. Glad that you enjoyed this journey - they are working towards the third film "Dune: Messiah" Thanks, Claudie!

They were kind of afraid the first could flop, given the budgets, and did not want to risk too much on it. Now that the first 2 have been a success, of course a third one was going to be pushed.
