Puss In Boots: The Last Wish (2022) | ClaudieTV

I finally got round to watching Puss In Boots! 🎉

I can't express how much I enjoyed watching this!

I also included my reaction to the 2012 short, Puss In Boots: The Three Diablos as I'd heard it was great too!

We see the return of one of my favourite characters from the first film, some other familiar faces from well known fairytales, and a rather nervous... little 'Jiminy Cricket.'

Sorry this took so long to get to you. I do hope you enjoy it.

Thank you all, for your continued support.

I've mentioned before in an old Q&A I grew up on Pixar, huge fan and has some of my favourite movies of all times. But then they changed. A lot. The golden years were 1995-2010, then they only focussed on spin offs, over used stories and the quality dropped alot. It became so overly commercial and just bland. And this isnt just me that thinks this, there's alot who would agree. It became too PC, over dumbed down and unwatchable. Some good ones here and there, but nothing other the standard of original Pixar. However some good ones too. I watched Soul and thought it was fab, cause it didn't talk down to you, had nice slow pacing and didn't feel rushed. And I know it seems like I'm shitting on Pixar. It's cause I adored it growing up as did others, and I feel over time it let us all down. I actually wanted to work in movies, cause of it. Hope that clarifies.

Claudie has said a lot of Pixar slander lately and it would be nice to know what was the last Pixar movie she watched. Pixar still has the best animation track record in history. Of course its all opinions but it would be nice to know where this dismissal is coming from.

Ah glad my little recap helped hehe, wasn't sure whether to leave it in! And yeah, this movie was great, and not just a kids film imo! Thank you Kein :)

Claudie

Yes Death is a great villian in this, and you're right this does for me, compete with some characters in the Kung Fu Panda movies! Yes heard how to train your dragon is great, maybe I will add it to the list for next month? I'm doing ok, busy but good. And excited to get back to Silo when I can :) Thank you for the kind words Meri!

Ah you're more than welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes you're 100% right, this isn't just a movie for kids, and it's funny how we fall into the trap of thinking it is! And I agree too on the style, I kinda prefer Puss in movie one, but everything else in this is better imo, and I think it will agre better!

Thank you so much for watching this, your joy is so infectious...😊 And thanks for watching the short film too, upon til now I had no idea it even existed...🧐😃 Yeah, the look of the movie is heavily influenced by the spiderverse movies and Arcane, those have set the new standards for animated storytelling...😊 For me the wolf is the most fascinating animated character since Jinx. I have seen this movie in cinema with my 10 years old niece and she was so scared by it. Honestly, I would have been too at her age...😱 The Wolf and Goldielocks and the Bears are more antagonists, not villains. The villain in this story is Jack Horner. I liked Goldielocks and the Bears so much. The fact alone that they are all cockneys (correct me if I'm wrong) really got me...😂 I was so surprised to learn that Goldielocks was voiced by Florence Pugh, while I recognized Olivia Coleman right away. She's the perfect Mama Bear...😍 The style is very different from the first movie, but for me this is a good thing. While the first one had its moments (you're absolutely right, Kitty Softpaws was the best in it) and was success then, it didn't age that well and many people found Humpty Dumpty weird. I guess they went with this new (and much much cooler) style - and a completely unrelated story - to make people forget about the first one...🤔 Please do not make the mistake of thinking it is a movie for children, just because it is animated and based on popular fairytales. Animated storytelling (at least the really good one) always transcends genres and works for every age group, no matter if it is anime, western 3d animation or old fashioned cartoon style, so please - analyze away...😀 This movie has another more subtle level that goes straight over childrens heads. As someone who has experienced panic attacks, the slightly simplyfied but still very accurate depiction of it hit very close to home for me. For my wife - who works in care - it was the Mama Luna scenes. The parallels to care retirement homes were very obvious for her. Mama Lunas "This is your forever home" sounded like a threat for a reason. These places often are indeed the place "where dignity comes to die"...😥 The style of the map is always related to the deepest wishes and fear of the one who reads it. Kitty fears loneliness, Puss fears death, Goldie desperately wishes for a "real" family and Perrito developed his relentless optimism as a coping mechanism and protection from the reality of his harsh life. His map was especially dark under all the bright colors. The "pocket full of posies" can be seen as a synonym for the plague, when doctors supposedly put posies in their masks to avoid the "deadly" smell, the "river of relaxation" can be seen as "going into the water" and drown yourself and the "forest of quick and easy solutions" can be seen as hanging trees. Of course I could be interpreting too much in this, but I think it was intentional, as it fits his story perfectly...🤔 I loved your reaction and look forward to when you return to the channel with new stuff, til then...🙂🙋🏻‍♂️

I liked this movie way more than the first one — and that’s saying a lot, because I loved the first one. By the way, what a fantastic character Death is — for me, the best antagonist in all of DreamWorks (right behind him, I’d put the villain from Kung Fu Panda 2). And lastly, I’d like to shine a light on what is not only the best animated trilogy (at least in my opinion), but also my favorite movies of all time — and yes, all three are tied for the number one spot, because I love them so much I simply can’t pick just one: How to Train Your Dragon. If someone asked me what friendship means to me and what values it represents, I’d just say: “Watch this trilogy, and you’ll get your answer.” Also, I’ll admit it: I sang the Universal intro with Claudie… and I’m not ashamed of it X’D Claudie, thank you for your hard work and dedication ❤️ I hope these days of disconnection are doing you good. uwu

This really took me back cuz I watched the first movie and a show as a kid. (Still it has been awhile so the added context in between was greatly appreciated.) The movie was really lovely. I feel like we got an insight in every character. Ten things were always happening at once. The google search after the movie has ended is tradition now. Also keep analyzing the kids movie!! The writing might be simple but that doesn't make it any less great
