2018-11-14 10:50:48 +0000 UTCIt's here! Well, you've almost made it through Season 1. By now you've seen the final episode. This is a rite of passage in the fandom. Congratulations! I hope you watched the Preview part for the final episode. Doesn't matter for a Reaction, but it's just nice to watch. I don't remember if they started the yearly finale preview "thing" this first season, so may not be relevant. But from here on, it's very important that you don't miss the preview before the final episode. It doesn't have spoilers for the episode, so it's safe. It does do a recap montage of the season. Time went fast, but John had been gone for a year. A lot's happened - at least for the boys. They've been hunting together for a whole year as a team. Just the two of them. Likely for the first time. First time for that long, at least. You were right. Pastor Jim was one of John's friends, and the boys would stay with him sometimes. Caleb was the person who called John to tell him about Pastor Jim's death. He was also a friend, of course. Sammy is so sweet and he does feel responsible, even though he shouldn't. He didn't do anything, but people are dying and he's somehow part of it. Or his family is. Just like when someone died when dean was healed made him feel responsible. Could be worse for Sammy. And feeling responsible for Jess's death too. Have to laugh about the baby - Every Reactor notices that it's a doll in the stroller right away. I never did! I don't think I ever even looked at the baby until Sam and the woman were talking close up. Pretty bad that it was so obvious. We see Dean finally standing up to his dad and telling him off. From what we know, he doesn't do that. But he must have changed. He's been away from his dad for a year now, and just him and Sammy. Away from his dad's influence likely has been a good thing for him. Whatever caused it, it's nice to see. We are all right with you on the frustration with the John always separating from the boys instead of the three of them fighting together. I think that they had to here, but still frustrating. Everyone wants to see the family fighting as a team, though. Fingers crossed. My simple solution would have been for John to call all of his friends and warn them, so that they could prepare. Then go with his boys to kill whatever came after the woman and baby. It would be just one night. Seems reasonable. Then deal with Meg and the other dude if needed. I think John's plan was to delay things and give Sam and Dean a chance to kill the thing coming to that baby's room. That's the whole goal of what he's been doing. So, going to meet with Meg with the fake gun was just to protect his friends with the hope that the thing that killed his wife and Jess, and other women, would be killed by Sam and Dean. So, yeah. He probably figured there'd be a good chance that he'd end up dead. Sam didn't actually hit the demon. It vanished around the same time Sam shot at it. I look forward to the next one.

Even without the gun, I think John would've gone no matter what plus it also distracted Meg away from the brothers too. Sam missed the demon which is why it didn't work, he hesitated for a little too long and couldn't get the shot before the demon vanished. Can't blame him really, it must've been very emotional for him as you can see when he tries to run it when he sees it has appeared again. Are you going to react to the Season 1 gag reel when you have finished the finale? They are very entertaining.
