2024-03-22 18:21:24 +0000 UTCMy theory on the weird gauges is that they used some kind of middleware that comes with a bunch of pre-set sliders and dropdown menus for options, and then builds that into your prompt before passing it on to the actual image generator. And in that instance, the generator took those parts to mean something that should literally be visualized as an attribute gauge. So it's a step beyond just using AI for everything, it's using other software that offloads the hard work of formulating a prompt for the AI, and not even taking a second to check if the output makes any sense at all

The only application of it that I've seen that seems genuinely useful is the generative fill in Photoshop. Everything else has amounted to nothing more than "fun toys to play with", and attempting to use it for anything beyond that has been catastrophic.
