58 - Every Young Man's Battle (feat. Laura Ramadei)
Added 2022-10-26 08:00:05 +0000 UTC
Laura Ramadei from the Girls On Porn podcast stops by to help Brian and Josh block, tackle, and blast their way through the anti-porn manifesto for evangelical Christian teenage boys terrified of their own sex drives: Every Young Man’s Battle. You’ll never look at a jogger the same way, and for that we apologize. Sort of.

"This is the site of Andersonville Prison camp, where approximately 41,000 Union prisoners of war were held between February 1864 and April 1865. Due to overcrowding, inadequate rations, and unsanitary conditions, nearly 13,000 of those promising young men died before release. Today, young men are held captive in a different kind of prison: the prison of p'rnography."

I was made to read this book at around 15 after my parents caught me looking at porn. And again for a YA Bible study after high school.
I have WAY too many thoughts and feelings about this episode to put in a single comment, so I'll just sum up my feelings with this:
I cannot BELIEVE y'all went through an entire round of "Maybe you've heard of this Christian band from 2000" without mentioning Switchfoot or POD!

I bet Fred Stoeker's real motivation is to create more demand for Jogger porn videos. He gave me a brand new search term for my next J-off sesh

Both the very specific tics of christian “alt” crossover bids and the more classical evangelical glurge lurking in the deep cuts like “Deathbed”
