It did help me later on for when I was doing a close reading of something to write and paper and cite specific places. It was also a fertile ground for comedy. I remember reading a copy of Animal Farm I borrowed from the library when I was in middle school and it had note written in the margin of the first few pages that said "animals can't talk stupid." I think about that note at least once a year.
