What were the legal aspects of Brazil's recovery from the brink of a Bolsonero dictatorship? Specifically can you detail the blocking of Bolsonero from seeking office until 2030 by the Brazilian Superior Electoral Court and how this might apply to the US situation? Further, what additional steps has Brazil taken to strengthen its democratic institutions, if any? Thank you.

2024-11-01 13:56:44 +0000 UTCI have a question: All these politicians and states that try to make it look like their abortion laws will be 'reasonable' by making exceptions for cases of rape and incest - Other than the woman being underage, how do they intend to determine this? Are we to be expected to believe women will be taken at their word? Will there be tribunals? Will the woman need to provide evidence? You guys at Lawfare have done great service over the past 8 years. Thank you!
