2026-01-29 11:16:22 +0000 UTCIf they're going to close the HMT "loophole" then, while they're at it, they might as well change the data element to something that is actually meaningful: weight. The heavier the container, the more draught, the deeper the harbor needs to be. But, I'm sure we'll stick with container value, which has no real connection to why harbors need to be maintained... The only semi-viable argument is, "Well, the more expensive the cargo, the more likely the importer can stomach the charge."
