Q&A Hangout (for everyone!) & current project sneak peek
Added 2021-07-24 18:39:48 +0000 UTC
Hey, I thought it would be nice to make this month's Q&A hangout open for everyone, not just the "Inquisitor" tier as usual. So yeah, everyone on my Patreon is invited 😊
You can ask questions in the comments below and I'll go through them during the stream - or simply ask live in chat.
Check the embedded YouTube stream above for the exact time this Sunday in your timezone - see you then!
When is the next one? And if you are talking bit - check some of the stuff I posted in your community thing

Now that the Elegoo Saturn is finally available, Do you still think is a god choice for Large size prints? Or are there other Large Printers on the horizon?

How much of your Vorons speed do you attribute to the motion system and how much to the high flow rate of your hot end? Obviously they go hand in hand but curious how far I could push my E3D Toolchanger with higher flow rate hotends (x and y only obviously, nothings going to touch that insane z speed on the Voron).

Tom, in your view, what is the future of 3D printing?
FDM in particular has been around for at least thirty years and the basic principal of melting plastic and g-code hasn't really changed that much?
Whilst we now have heated beds, more efficient hotends, bed levelling and all kinds of clever sensors, is it still basically the same?
Does there need to be a major change, a completely new concept, to increase speeds, quality and the materials we can print from?

I’m also interested in learning how to tune a new printer. I built a v0 and am trying to increase speeds while still having acceptable quality.

How exactly does one go about tuning a profile for a new printer? Can you recommend some resources? There are so many parameters to set. Since I use my printers to prototype, I’d like to reduce my print times while keeping dimensional accuracy. Thanks!

As usual Tom, thanks for being great and thanks for all the effort! I am going to abuse a bit here and ask more than one question, please feel free to pick one or two if you don't want me to crowd others out.
1 - I saw you configured your Voron with very fast accelerations. I did not watch the whole stream, I am sorry, but did you also run the input shaper and other tunings using a plugged in accelerometer? If so, how did you make it work with RRF?
2 - Is there a fan too strong for the radiator of the hotend? I understand a part cooling fan can overwhelm the nozzle heater, and I wonder if there's similar effect on the radiator.
3 - Made with Layers question: what's the difference of buck and step-up converters?
4 - What is the repository you are using nowadays for STL publishing? I am looking for alternatives for Thingiverse.
5 - In a cyclops dual extruder bowden setup, should both bowden tubes be of the exact same length?
6 - What are the maximum speeds and acceleration for your Voron? I wonder if what you called "project speed" 3D printing could be reproduce in a Mendel i3 style printer.
Again, thanks for all your time and effort Tom!
