Games by JimD Newsletter – More Game Updates
Added 2023-08-20 16:36:09 +0000 UTCWelcome to my 71st newsletter! It's been another busy month. While most people are taking vacations, I have steadily been working on all three of my current games in development. Everything has been progressing well, and I'm excited to share my writing with everyone.
Let's get started.
Zombie Exodus: Safe Haven, Part 4
Part 4 currently stands at 377,000 words, with an additional 14,000+ words this month so far. I still plan to add 20,000 words this month, my monthly goal.
I have been spending a lot of time researching content for the Scientist storyline. It is much more advanced than the storyline in the original Zombie Exodus. The Scientist storyline in ZE:SH is 25,000 words alone. You can do more research on the Zeta virus, build your laboratory, set up experiments, conduct experiments, and more. Your progress will be tracked, which will go towards your overall goal of either creating a cure for the disease caused by the Zeta virus, creating a vaccine that protects against the Zeta virus, or altering the genetic code of the Zeta virus for your specific purpose. It was a lot to write, and though I use many scientific principles and terms, I have tried to explain them to the layperson.
Now that the Scientist storyline has been written for chapter 14, I am moving on to another mission. This one has the main character visiting a fictitious college, Central Colorado University. The MC will enlist lesser-utilized survivors like Bailey, Dante, and Jude. You may also play this mission solo, though it will be challenging to scavenge the college alone.
I plan to wrap up chapter 14 next month and begin chapter 15, which will be the first significant time jump in the story.
Deadbury Academy
I have worked relatively consistently on Deadbury Academy this past month and will post a major update towards the end of this month. Right now, you can play the first 30,000 words. After the next update, you can play the first 70,000 words. That's a huge jump, but I'm trying to code this game quickly.
One of the things that makes this game unique is that you will be able to experience life before the outbreak. You will have time to interact with other major characters and explore the setting before the action of the zombie invasion begins. That may be a spoiler, but I want to set up your expectations before releasing the next part. This game will primarily be about surviving a zombie outbreak. Still, Mia and I felt it would be a much more compelling story if you become invested in your classmates and the school and surrounding areas before the major action begins.

Zombie Exodus: Stronghold
I have been steadily working on this game all month, and I plan to release at least two chapters per month. Each chapter is roughly 10 – 15 minutes of gameplay. Currently, there are six chapters available. You use tokens to play each chapter and get free chapters every day you sign in. It is most likely that the game will be free for every chapter when you play it. I'm enjoying building the artwork and story and am trying to provide an entertaining experience with this specific look at the zombie apocalypse a year after it began.
You can download the official StoryLoom app for iOS or Android (https://bio.site/GetStoryLoom) or play the game directly through your browser on PC or mobile at:

That's all for this month.
