An Invitation - in the studio with Crimson Veil

Hello Humans,

This month’s video blog (edited by the ever-brilliant Matas) is a real glimpse into my happy place.

We’re deep in the studio process, out in Kettering, recording parts for the new Crimson Veil album EUDAIMONIA.

So far we’ve laid down all the drums, most of the guitar and bass, and some of the vocals. The foundations of every song are in place, and I’ve never been prouder of this project. The album is beautiful and challenging, and is easily the best thing I have ever worked on. I can't wait to share it with you.

Hana is working on strings and harp from her new place in Spain, and I have news from Mister Igorrr (who’s producing the album) that one track is already in the final mixing stage. Excited doesn’t quite cut it!

In between studio sessions we also shot a brand-new HVIRESS video. If you haven’t seen it… it’s, erm, wild.

And because I can never resist a moany moment, I share a few thoughts on why Spotify is (still!) broken and what that means for artists trying to keep music alive on their own terms. If you missed it - I wrote a letter to Daniel Ek as a song.

Settle into September with a cuppa and look back with me at the glorious month of August, where so much was done.
