FEBRUARY "THINGS"

Hello my darling patrons,

As you can see I’ve been silent for a couple of weeks, I’ve been taking a quick birthday break in Montenegro where me and Garry have been exploring the countryside, visiting an animal sanctuary and generally soaking up the slavic culture. I can’t say I’ll miss the grappa but being based at the foot of a mountain was pretty special. My head has been reset, and I’m feeling pretty inspired for the coming year…

I hope you’ve all been doing well and you haven’t missed me too much ;) Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from social media, and I don’t like to do too much blogging on Patreon as it’s not really my style and can be a bit overwhelming to keep the flow of writing constantly interesting, so I like to keep it neat and to-the-point.

Anyhoo, this month I’ll be releasing the following "things", let me know your thoughts…

FEBRUARY 2020 PATRON REWARDS

$1+ HOW THE WORLD CONSPIRED (Part One). 

This is a huge, professionally made documentary on how our 5th album came about, the lyrics, the meaning, the concept it and a bunch of other stuff-you-never-knew-about-us. It’s being made by Matas (the voice of mister virgil) and his two colleagues Gemma and Dan. 

They came down from Aylesbury to Brighton for three mega-days, filming with us, interviewing and travelling around Brighton to some poignant places for us. It was very intense, very in-depth, and as a result the footage has come out beautifully. Can’t wait for you all to see it! It’s definitely one of the best "things" we’ve ever done and you’ll be getting the first patron-only edit.

$3+ NEW SONGS. 

I don’t know what or how yet, but there will be new music this month. I’ve got an insane amount of new material bubbling up that’s about to explode so I’m going to hand-pick a couple of new tracks (most likely for my solo project MFATCP) and release them to you guys.

Probably this will feature my snaps from Montenegro… but you never know the month is young and I might take some other patron-worthy snaps ;)

I’ve not done a huge amount of filming this month so I thought for you guys this month I would just make some videos of me playing the new songs as piano/vocal arrangements, interspersed with some random bits. I’ll do an arrangement of The Putrid Brine from last month and something new probably… ooohhh…

$25+ HAWKS 

I’ll be recording some more bits from Oli’s album Still Life this month so we should be streaming some studio bits, plus I’m getting back into my accordion practice so you guys can be a fly-on-the-wall for that :D

This month I’m going to do "Love Song For A Vampire" by Annie Lennox. I ADORE this song, been playing it on accordion mostly.

Hope that’s enough to keep you excited for now! Next month I have a rather ambitious idea to write songs/pieces specifically requested by you guys, based on your own experiences and stories. I will explain more in a couple of weeks but please don’t go anywhere… Birdeatsbaby music is coming back very soon, we are making a start on album #6 (we're calling it HEX) plus a bunch of new covers, music videos and webcasts.
