Subtract.

Dear Patrons,

This month of June has gone by in a flash. I'm still tired, raw, going up and down like a yo-yo, and basically adjusting to life as it comes. I've pretty much levelled out on my new medication (Lithium) and it appears to be working... so far so good. It's a relief to be sleeping again for the most part and being able to function "normally".

I hope all of you are doing ok and life is treating you well. I know a lot of you struggle with your own issues, so being able to reach out to each other is really important. I love Patreon for this reason as well as many others.

On a more positive note I've really enjoyed putting together all the "things" for this month. It's a lot of music and photography this time round, and I've also got a teaser for the Better Man video which I'll publish on the Patreon Facebook Group later today. Anyway, the main "thing" for all Patreon tiers this month is my new accordion song called SUBTRACT. It's a melancholy, nursery-rhyme-esque ditty about love and loss, reflecting on losing somebody you love, coupled with the helplessness of not being able to do absolutely anything about it. It's not meant to be completely depressing, just more about how to accept the death of a relationship, and the grief that follows. Once you make a decision to end something and you know there's no way back, you must push forwards and sometimes that's very painful.

I have a lot of positive focus in my life right now but still feeling pretty sensitive and vulnerable so I think my writing at the moment is reflecting this.

The song is simple, plain and very open... I think it's catchy as fuck. It's been going round my head for weeks and my band have all started humming it 😂so I think it's a keeper and it'll probably appear at our smaller more acoustic shows, and my solo ones.

I might do a bigger version with the full band for my PATRON-ONLY album (more news on that soon! 😮)
