It's almost the end of August, so I thought I'd share some of the pieces I've been working on. It feels a bit silly to color all these temporary sketches, but it helps me feel out the composition and get the character designs locked in before THE GREAT INKENING.
The writing has been coming along great too! There's only one scene left to write for the demo, then it's only a matter of finishing the visual assets. Technically the game is playable now, but there's still a lot of placeholders. I want to clean it up, add some more quality-of-life features, and devlop better UI before fully sharing it. Every time I finish a piece, it feels like the game is that much closer to being demoed!
Next month will be very similar to this one. I'll work on a couple more sprites and backgrounds, but mostly focus on action splashes like the ones in this post. My big focus these next few days will be tightening up the map screen, which should make everything feel a lot smoother.
