Sawako/Amazon Growth Sequence, step 3 (color wip)

As a kid, I never understood everyone's curiosity for live-action versions of cartoon properties. I guess I still don't, really. There's something about the work of a good painter or animator, you know. Their ability to enhance and embellish far surpasses anything I've seen accomplished with a camera. And that pushes me improve as an artist. Obsession with beauty. A need to compensate for its absence in the particular shithole I live in.

I wonder what that kid would think of me if he realized my coloring efforts are presently somewhat gravitating away from anime style. I mean, I still think it's an absolute optimum in terms of beauty, but I feel like it's a bit too intrinsically tied to a particular body type. It doesn't portray enough depth to glorify muscle the way I want it to. So I'm trying my darnest to learn to paint realistic skin in the hopes of finding a sweet spot. He'd probably think it's heresy. I guess I just call it "fuck it." I recognize the magnificence of a subject properly reduced to their essentials, but six years worth of cringing at my own work have taught me that I'm simply not there yet.

Yet, it's hard to aim for realistic when the physical impossibility of your kink gets in the way of the reference hunting. It'll just have to take a long time.

Also, I really need to sit down and think about how to streamline this. I haven't even started building the Amazon alt. It might take a miracle for me to finish this in the week and a half I have left; I'm considering turning this into a dead month. Charge this picture during August.

Which reminds me: I find it interesting that most of you haven't completed this month's picture poll. Are you planning to? Do you see it as obnoxious homework? Because if you're only here for donation purposes, an attractive tax reduction might be arrangeable.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I believe you're already very very close to the sweet spot you're seeking, I really dig the anime style with realistic skin coloring you're showing in these previews. Anime colors are flat and plain, definitely far from the best option when trying to highlight the complex layers and rich level of details of an extremely muscular body, even more so if muscles are unrealistically huge. My humble opinion is that this is the way to go. Keep up the good work!
