For long-time readers, you might be feeling like Penny being her best friend comes out of nowhere. That's because over the years, Penny got the short straw in terms of how many kids I could fit into a scene. One of the major things we did during the Books 1-4 edits was reintroduce Penny into scenes so she'd interact with and on behalf of Tamberlane more. But if you're used to/your first experience with the story is from the first iteration, it won't be top of your mind!
