Hey folks! Martín here.
This week I've been visiting my home in Colombia because of my sister's wedding. I thought I'd share what my mobile rig looks like!
I have to start with the most important element of my rig. That is my computer, since that's where I have all of the sessions that have the music we're working on. It's also my main work computer, so bringing it along is a no-brainer. My computer would be pretty useless without my hard drive that has a lot of the samples and things I use for work and OkGn stuff as well. That's a no-brainer too.
I also have my 5 year old noise cancelling headphones with me, which are not the best for mixing or critical listening, but they work great when I don't have a designated workspace. They are also great for working on a plane, or when I'm just trying to get some me time.
I also bring along a little case that has all of my cables, usb keys, adapters, guitar picks, etc. This is also something I bring with me everywhere.
Those four things are basically indispensable for any type of traveling. The next ones I'll list I can leave behind or decide to bring with me depending on the type of work I have to do.
MIDI keyboard
USB powered interface for recording
Guitar and a cable to plug in to the interface
I try to travel with the bare minimum and so far I haven't missed anything! What's something that you guys always travel with?
