“The Snake” MV Makeup Test

Thought I’d share with you some old photos of when I was prepping for the “Snake” music video! Being someone who’s passionate about makeup and fashion, I had such a fun time experimenting with these elements in filming the music video. I wanted to do my best to represent the Snake character gracefully without going into full cosplay/character mode because let’s be real, that would’ve been fun, but it would’ve made the character feel WAY too silly. I got some cool colored eye contacts, went for an earth-toned, vampire-y look for my makeup, and tried to build an outfit out of things I could find online and out at thrift stores. I wanted the outfit to emulate dead, shedding skin as much as possible while still looking cool and being comfortable to roll around in. Funnily enough, one of my eye contacts turned out to be ripped down the middle on the day of the shoot, so I had to go without one, but I actually ended up thinking it looked pretty cool with only one! Despite having tar and dirt linger in my hair and respiratory system even days after the shoot, it was an awesome experience 🤣 I loved trying to embody a dying, old snake, even though it was tough at times. I hope you guys enjoyed the video as much as we enjoyed making and editing it. I am BEYOND excited to start planning more music videos, we’re definitely gonna up the ante in the ones to come ;)
