new blog post and various updates

i'm getting back to posting ren'py tips every now and then! i felt like doing this one today, so here is how to make a cuter history screen featuring astra's garden.

the history screen for my upcoming game (still unannounced) uses this format, and one of the testers said it was the best looking history screen for a ren'py game they'd ever seen... i was so honored, i decided i should share how i coded it so other people can do it too! but since i can't show THAT game yet, i had to do it for one of my older ones... i'm planning on updating astra's garden and starry flowers just as a start, and we'll see how i feel about doing more after that. (i'm still so busy...)

the upcoming vn btw... i know i keep teasing it, but i'm writing the endings for it right now. there's a really cool trailer that was made for it, and i'm pretty sure we're still aiming for the end of this month or early march to make the announcement. SO IT'S COMING... i'll make a post as soon as i can share stuff about it!!! omg it's so close... as for length, it's gonna be longer than starry flowers. that's long as hell (for me) lol.

umm let's see, what else. the another piece of candy volume 2 print run is still delayed. i hope i can get to it this year, and do volume 3 a bit sooner too... i'm considering looking for a different printer so the books will be higher quality (the staplebound ones are okay, but so floppy...) but idk if it's better that they're all consistent, or if i should just not worry about it... aaggghh this is why it's stalled, because i keep being indecisive and i haven't wanted to finish the cover illustration anyway... sorry to the comic fans!!! i do want to do more physical merch, it's just difficult for me for some reason u.u

since lonely wolf treat just updated over the new year, there will probably not be another update for a long while. i keep wanting to work on the alternate endings though, so i might try to chip away at 2 and 3 over the weekends... atm i'm really trying to finish the new VN by next month, so i havent' been able to think about it too much.

the next trick newsletter is coming tonight or tomorrow though! i'll be writing it soon... (maybe after dinner lol i'm getting hungry)

i should have more free time next month after the new game is announced and finished and everything. so i'll be opening asks again at that point... idk mid march??? i'll do another patron q&a before then. sorry i didn't get a chance to do one last month, i was truly swamped with work and forgot to put it in my calendar. i'll try to schedule them regularly from now on!
