But also: Why was absolutely nothing resolved? Why do Maxim and Alessia treat her father like his opinion should matter at all? How much were they paying that translator? Is that another half-finished hotel? Do automobiles actually qualify as a "fun theme"? Why is our hero thinking about his mother during sex? Tickety-boo????

2019-06-27 17:41:36 +0000 UTCYeah, using 'tattoo' to mean 'rapid drumbeat' is definitely a british piece of vocab - the Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual martial drumming competition (if you've ever seen video of a bunch of scotsmen in kilts marching in front of a castle playing Scotland the Brave on bagpipes, it was probably from there).

Not only did we not tie up any loose ends, I am fairly certain several were undone in the last few pages! This was a great pick for the podcast, especially after the over-index on Bob Honey and 64-Square :D
