December Reward + New Artwork

Hello friends, and Happy New Year!

I just sent out the rewards via private message. As always, they include my brushes (Photoshop and Procreate), Gradient Maps, and a 10% discount code for my store.

Thank you so much for being so kind and patient. You're the best! The delay occurred because I completely underestimated how long this current painting would take, especially with New Year's in the mix. But now that I've finally completed it, I'm excited to share the process with you.

With this painting, I wanted to explore realism juxtaposed with a dream-like quality. I hope you like it!

While painting, I stopped every few minutes to take a photo. I hope you'll enjoy seeing the step-by-step progression!

Everyone who has signed up before the end of December should have received either the reward or a message asking them to update their credit card details because their payment has been declined. If you have not received a message at all, please let me know! But if you‘ve signed up in January, you will receive the first round of rewards at the beginning of February.

Most previous rewards are available at gumroad.com/djamilaknopf
Finally, all bundles include my Procreate brushes besides my Photoshop brushes!

I love digital art as well, but there's just something about pushing paint around on paper. It connects me to how I used to draw and paint as a kid. :)

I don't find digital art to be particularly pleasing either. In fact, just looking at it is burning me out. In absurdly simple reductionist logic, digital art is just wrangling computer electricity in the form of photons; I don't feel the resistance of the physical paper against charcoal, graphite, and colored pencils. I love your art Djamila, I really do; its gorgeous and gives great inspiration. I don't want to do digital art either mainly because of the eye strain involved and the fact digital art is completely artificial.

Ohh, I love that! Thank you so much. :)

This is great, I love how you keep an well distributed colorharmony across the painting, which plays just so good with the lights and shadows! :-) really beautiful and peaceful! Feels like one of these wonderful dreams one has, you just won't forget.
