October Update

Hello all, and welcome to October, the 8th month (oct-ober), of the year that’s actually the 10th month, but never mind about that!

The new iOS app has been released, but alas, there is a bug still affecting some users which the app guys are currently working on to push a new update ASAP which will correct it - thank you for your patience! There are still more plans for the app, such as automated pausing and other controls, only app building is very complicated and the app is created by volunteers so this may take some time. Those of you with relevant experience that want to help, remember that the app is open source on GitHub!

20 tracks of ‘Intro to Music (Theory )’ are now online, and I can only repeat how excited I am about how these musical ideas are coming together and what it means for the long term possibilities of this method. I’m now working on finalising the next 10 tracks before another -and possibly final- bout of recording, which should consolidate this unique musical literacy we are developing, leaving learners able to get composing their own music… which I really can’t wait to hear!

Once the Intro to Music course is released in full, I’ll take some time to get the LT ship in order - website, dissemination, hunting for new teachers etc. before announcing new material!

I know I’ve also been very quiet on Substack where many of you have joined for a more behind the scenes look at Language Transfer, but I’ll hopefully publish something new this month. For some weeks now I’ve been taking notes and writing bits and pieces for a few article ideas but you know, busy, busy, busy! But in order to motivate me to get going with it all, I can announce that the next article will be called ‘Home Truths’, and will be a follow up from ‘Roots’ which I wrote before returning to Cyprus in March.
