August update!

Hello all and thank you for your pledges this month, and sorry for my delay in posting an update! I was hoping to announce in this update that the new iOS app was rolling out, but app building is complicated and bugs appear as you squash other bugs! Luckily, LT is enjoying the support of two enthusiastic volunteers who are busily working on getting this long-time-coming update online ASAP! If you use iOS and have time to test the app, please shoot me a message so that I can send you the next test version when it's ready!

Classes of the first non-language Thinking Method course continue to be released. 18 tracks and nearly 5 hours of ‘Introduction to Music (Theory)’ (already the length of a language Intro course) are online, and more should be recorded before the month's out. Intro to Music is really demonstrating the possibilities of applying the Thinking Method beyond language and I continue to be super excited about that. I truly believe that the way we traditionally think about and teach any subject can be revolutionised by this method, and I can’t begin to imagine how important that could come to be once the cat gets out the bag, so to speak. Of course, the Thinking Method is not just about how we teach a subject, but also how we think about and understand it too. As a species so evidently comfortable with cognitive dissonance and contradiction (our societies literally run on it), I really do believe that the world is in dire need of the Thinking Method!

My new Language Transfer life is slowly shaping up in the way I had envisaged. Each day that I spend working on the new language with the new course writer-rather than just working by myself as I had grown so tired of-is a wonderful day! I’m so excited about releasing the first classes of this new language (and announcing what language it is!). We're working hard to make that soon!

My vision of creating material through constant open public workshops has not shaped up so well though! It is an entirely different experience to organise workshops post-pandemic, and I have accepted I don't currently have the time for that - not the workshops in themselves, but their promotion, which is much more labour intensive now than some years ago. So I have given up the space we were renting for this purpose, and am now looking for workshop hosts that can take on the promo-side of things, here and abroad. Freedoms permitting, I hope to divide the year between Cyprus and Spain, using the base in Asturias to travel out from and meet new and potential teachers, giving workshops on the way!
