New Artwork "Mage Guild Castle"
Added 2024-02-07 15:36:55 +0000 UTCDone! In my opinion, this is one of my strongest pieces to date, but we'll see how other people like it. Painting the sunlight was a lot of fun, I will definitely be revisiting golden hour settings more in the future. I also really like the light that the wizard has on him coming from the ground, and not the sky. It seems counterintuitive, but looks really cool, which is something I first saw in Moebius' work. He made lots of these character in bright deserts of course where the ground actually reflects quite a lot of light, but I think it looks great on any surface.
At first, the thought of making the sky grey crossed my mind as well, as if a storm just went by or is brewing in the background, but it feels more hopeful this way, the air is clear and cool.
Our wizard will rest at these mage guild quarters before travelling into the valleys beyond.
Anyways, I just finished a large commission, only smaller ones to go, and I have a great idea for a next piece, you'll see soon.
