New Artwork "Sea Mage Castle"

The Sea Mages are known for building their towers, houses and castles at the seaside or even on small islands to be near their chosen (or maybe it has chosen them) element.
This one was a LOT of fun to illustrate for several reasons - the lineart was done really loose by my standards, focusing on just "doing it" and going with whatever works instead of planning everything beforehand, which you can also see in the process pictures. A lot of things were added during the process that are just fun and quirky - for example the bench, or the wooden repair works on the tower. I should have made my pictures come alive way sooner this way, but got a bit stuck in things needing to look "tidy" and as somebody tends to them. If every building is perfectly cared for, that look can be a bit dull though, almost stiff. Just drawing in all these small elements was a lot of fun then, and I think that this way, it looks way more like there are people actually living inside the castle.
In case you noticed, those scribbles with the colors on the stones and walls in the foreground were part of being more playful as well, it almost felt a bit rebellious compared to my usual precise way to draw and paint, but it felt great!
Just one last thing to mention before I take my leave - the red is a rather common temperature contrast against the blue sky, but it works great in my opinion. No need to reinvent the wheel ;)
