Lavender Psychosis
Added 2023-07-13 05:13:40 +0000 UTCA request. I didn't realise some of the stuff on soundcloud isn't here and now you can download it. It was WIP at the time but I don't really intend on finishing it, and doubt that Ableton file isn't missing files.
The choirs were inspired by the Annihilation soundtrack, specifically by Barrow and Salisbury's use of atonal female choirs, probably in turn inspired by György Ligeti.
I always felt there was a good incomplete idea, however I feel like there needed to be more compositional interplay between the noise and vocals. The two timbres feel unrelated here. I'd probably need a whole (at minimum) EP to develop this style trying to get noise and modern classical-style vocals to work in this way. I can't rule it out, but it's not what I'm working on currently.
However I felt it was an interesting experiment nonetheless. One day I might try and do something similar but with more consistency with the sound design.
