Also visited near Chicago recently; I mostly went to restaurants right as they opened to feel less awkward.

If this week’s theme is female singers or girl bands, then the song I’d like to recommend is “Moon” by Origa. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86pErzcjnsI
Most of the songs I listen to are Japanese anime songs, and I worry that letting you hear certain tracks beforehand might spoil your reaction experience. So, I spent quite some time scrolling through my playlist and finally found a song from an anime you’ll probably never watch on your channel — it’s an insert song from the 1999 anime Turn A Gundam.
“Moon” is a hauntingly beautiful song performed by Origa (her real name is Olga Vitalyevna Yakovleva), a Russian-born singer who built her career in Japan and was widely known for her collaborations with composer Yoko Kanno, the legendary female musician behind the iconic Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. "Moon" was also composed by Kanno. Origa’s ethereal voice and cross-cultural artistry left a lasting impact on anime music, and although she sadly passed away in 2015 at the age of 44, her work continues to resonate deeply with listeners around the world.
In contrast to this week’s Bocchi's episode about lyric writing, the lyrics of “Moon” can be said to hold a uniquely special place in the entire music world. Rather than using any real-world language, the lyrics are sung in an invented “sound language” often called Gablish, designed to express pure emotion beyond words. The song embodies a sense of serenity, rebirth, and the quiet persistence of life — themes deeply tied to the reflective, almost philosophical tone of the anime itself. It’s a piece meant to be felt rather than understood, a soundscape that evokes both melancholy and transcendence under the light of the moon.

Happy Pluribus Day! 100% on rotten tomatoes and the first two episodes were frickin’ fantastic. Best pilot ever and best tv show since Better Call Saul. Rhea Seehorn deserves all the Emmys. 😀

This time, I recommend 'Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is' by Jet. Nostalgia hit me like a truck when I heard this one earlier this week.

Една българска роза - Паша Христова
(A bulgarian rose) - Pasha Hristova
Who was a bulgarian singer, performing music in the 60-70s, but unfortunately she died really young at 25 in an airplane crash :(
But the song sounds really beautiful (subjectively speaking y'know) and I heard it first in Music class in 5th (or 6th IDK) grade and I've just been reminded of it through the years every so often and listened to it again.

Because it’s one of the most underrated OST songs ever, my recommendation for this week is “Glassy Sky” by Donna Burke. It’s probably easier to find if you search for “Tokyo Ghoul” instead of the artist’s name.

Rosalia just released a new album today, so I figured I'd suggest my favorite song from it. I think she's one of the most creative pop artists out there right now.

It’s difficult for me to recommend songs because what I listen to is usually based on what I watch (I’m still listening to Steve Conte’s “Call Me Call Me” from Cowboy Bebop).
Right now I’d recommend “Somewhere Only We Know” from Keane

I think bocchi captures the anxious-ness of introvertersion better than any other series or story i know. Its always overblown; bocchi is compulsively acting out the worst impulses of introvension or low confidence that even most extrovert people occasionally feel but we all do our best to suppress and compensate for. It frequently sets off my second hand embarrassment/cringe sensitivity, Because it is touching nerves for the least favorite parts/impulses of myself but it always tempers it and ultimately comforts me with its relentless positivity and imaginative, playful art style direction, and great character writing.
Im sure someone else has said. But kita's VA is also Ubel from frieren. Its hard to catch i think because the roles are so different. But I think showcases the VA's talents really well because she nails them both.

Nice picks for songs this week, its been so nice finding lots of new songs to enjoy from these.
If we're picking girls/new stuff, think I'll throw something local in with The Beaches, "Takes One To Know One" though I'm still a sucker for the still kinda recent "Blame Brett"
Copenhagen is so lovely. I've only been once years ago so my memory for recommendations is poor, but as some who almost always prefers traveling somewhere new instead of revisiting a place, Copenhagen easily makes the list of places I'd go to again.
