Cowboy Bebop Episode 13 Reaction

Cowboy Bebop Episode 13 Reaction

Comments

It's quite a different show than Bebop. I like it more than Bebop overall I think but it's close and it's personal preference. They're both great shows.

Also worth noting Space Lion is seemingly inspired by "Coyote Dance" by Robbie Robertson which is also a great song

I've been meaning to watch Frieren. Hearing that people compared it to Bebop is now making me even more interested in checking it out. Not something I would've expected. Really glad to see how well LM get what makes Bebop special.

Yess I love their description! The character's story has already happened, and what we see now in the show is just the characters dealing with their past and their traumas the best way they know how. I think Jet managed to let go of his past when he threw the pocket watch into the ocean. Also love the line in the show when Spike says he has "nothing" to bring back to the ship but that was enough for Jet. Honestly, I feel like the music and the mood it set is part of the show just as much as the dialogue. It speaks to the character's feelings without having to say any word. What Gren cares most is camaraderie. When Gren tells Vicious that he believed in their camaraderie and Vicious responds "their was nothing to believe in" you can see Gren denying that by shooting his pistol as if to reject it. Titan was where Gren and Vicious fought the war, it was where that feeling of camaraderie came from. Returning to Titan as Gren laid dying was him returning to that time when he got he felt most like comrades. I wish they had watched all the way to the end credit and saw the final line "Do you have a comrade?" instead of the usual "See you space cowboy" Can't wait till we get to Faye's main storyline

Keep in mind that it's worth watching to the end of the credits, or at least checking out the end. There isn't a true after-credits scene, however the end card sometimes have different messages. The normal one is "See you space cowboy", however the end of this episode was "Do you have a comrade?"

To be honest I didn't remember this episode was so good. wow

Titan is a moon of Saturn. The show takes place on planets that we theorize would be easiest to make suitable for human life. As well as space stations and asteroids with giant domes built on them to provide an environment for humans. But those are the smaller communities.

Space Lion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DybCZvW1mBo This shows entire soundtrack is great.

Do you have a comrade?

I get what you're saying about how important the soundtrack is. Gren’s ending, with that music playing, evokes a feeling that’s both melancholic and hopeful, kinda hard to describe. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen Blade Runner, but there’s a certain famous scene in it that gives me that same feeling. It's truly special

Cowboy bebop is definitely among the top 10 anime with the best Soundtrack. It's magical, ethereal and mystic. Truly amazing.

I'm surprised yall werent as destroyed by the end of this episode as I was haha maybe it just hits more on repeat viewings. Keiko Nobumoto is just the anime writer goat. I think its important to think about how the war on Titan might have changed Vicious and also makes it so much more sad about how even after how much the war has ruined Gren's life, he still reminisces about it because of the bonds he built through it. Comrades.

Gren's story is the story that always stayed with me the most after I finished Cowboy Bebop. It is just such a beautifully tragic story that I never got over it. This remains my favorite part of the series for Gren's story alone.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

I really love Gren. With how much shit he went through his presence and voice exudes so much kindness and is so soothing. I also like that he still takes revenge on Vicious. People are complex and how a victim behaves is very personal. I'm glad he found some kind of resolution at the end
