Added 2022-08-13 09:27:58 +0000 UTCWanted to write this yesterday but literally had a tummy ache :D
Anyway.
Bud [B-rank], Justin [B-rank], Flagestis [B-rank], Alcatraz [B-rank], and a special shoutout to Erik Ovčar [S-rank],
Thank you for your pledges and re-pledges and supporting my writing! :)
On the news front not that much going on so just little tangents.
Definitely positive that this months is currently on track to being one of the better months in terms of writing and word count (12k in 12 days between the Lewd Succubus and Discord Waifu story so breaking 30k this month would be super awesome). Trying my best to continue a steady pump of content while preventing a burnout. Once in a while I notice how even successful writers just disappear one by one. Not sure if this is especially acute in the lewd space since that's what I mostly check up on or if this is just the natural circle of life of online serial webnovel writers, either way want to avoid such a fate while also being astonished by those that manage 15-20k words per week. 54 word sentence, nice!
Also the discord story is still probably a few weeks off from seeing the light of day on Patreon, though it would probably make for a better reading experience than the scuffed 400 word jpgegs when it gets here.
Also I'll probably make an incy wincy tiny change in the ending of the last arc of the Lewd Succubus while only the highest Patron ranks have read it. Not a fan of doing that, kinda like save scumming in games, but I realized that I got a little carried away in the excitement of the final encounter and now trying to make up my mind on what would make for a better story concerning a certain something.
One of the downsides of writing-as-you-go webnovels that can't exactly do major/minor changes and rewrites without a very jarring current reader experience. And editing in foreshadowing into earlier chapters is just cheating for webnovels while being a no-brainer good writing when writing a book.
Not that I'm complaining since those are pretty much the only positives of writing a whole book in one sitting before publishing and webnovel serial format clearly has some positives that allow for a creative output that few book authors manage (obvious exceptions being the absolutely insanely prolific ones like Stephen King and Brandon Sanderson).
Of course the downside being that one can easily write themselves into a corner or make the write-as-you-go story so unsalvageable that they have no idea how to proceed. One of the reasons that webnovels get just dropped by the thousands (among many many other reasons, such as "my first book, I have no idea what I'm doing").
Well, this turned into a random tangent half-way through... But was fun to write down some of my thoughts, so... Yeah. 'Till next update!
