BELIEF
Added 2022-09-17 14:50:33 +0000 UTCI had the idea that all ideology, all belief is like a parasitic mind virus that exploits some kind of weakness in the host & then tries to replicate itself while ignoring the health of the host & prioritizing replication. I don’t know if my pragmatism has gotten extreme or people’s beliefs are so getting in the way of societal function, but my theory really seems true! I use it when thinking about people whose beliefs stand out or apart from the functioning of their life. I’m not pointing this out to say I’ve been exempt from this, I feel like I’ve been infected by these things three times for periods that have lasted years! Anyhow, it’s something I think you should be conscious of.
