2d fluid sim
Added 2025-03-23 23:02:32 +0000 UTCI've been playing for a while with 2d, grid based, fluid sims.
Now - there are already a lot of great tools out there:
Paketa12 recently uploaded a lovely TOPs only fluid sim.
And three dashes has a youtube tutorial on how to write one with GLSL in touchdesigner.
and ofcourse Joseph Peltz and MiniUV have their 3D system.
This is very inspired by three dashes' tutorial - the architecture is similar.
But I wanted to show some ways that you can use a 2D fluid sim to produce different results.
Here's a little preview for you - tutorial coming soon.

2025-07-10 00:13:44 +0000 UTCAmazing work! Thanks for sharing! Btw when opening this in the experimental builds (2025), the mipmap/nearest pixel selections of various "Common" tabs end up wrong, as do the pixel formats, inside of the fluid sim custom comp. And the color values in the Geo node (on one of the instancing tabs) need to be changed from r/g/b to something like r/r/r to end up looking the same color. I'm not sure about the 2nd one, but the pixel stuff comes from different indexes for those inputs in the new TD version I think

2025-03-24 14:38:43 +0000 UTCHello! i'm not certain how you want it to interact with multitouch. but i've added an example of how to interact with xy positions using panel-logic. lmk if that helps you get some ideas
