I would LOVE for them to allow Netherrealm to just make a full movie mind you, but yeah without them involved I honestly expected very little. A lot of camp, some terrible logic and acting and what I got was a decent action film with some decent humor and very little cringe which really surprised me :D

Love it dude. Getting into board games has done wonders for our "family time" and I wouldn't trade that for the world :)

Yes yes you can't be too married to the lore at all that's for sure :D They confirmed they'll be making a second one so I hope there we'll get Johnny Cage + tournament :)

Thanks for the discussion! You made a great point about how a game can play great with a certain number of players but be very different with more of less players. Seems like that’s an important point that reviewers should be sure to make when commenting on a newer game. At least it’s something that I’ll be paying attention to from now on =) and I appreciate the transparency regarding your “real life.” I have three kiddos of my own, though only ages 7, 4, and 2. Still, I’m introducing them to board games already- it’s been fun!

Mortal Kombat works as an action, fight, Gore movie. But as a Mortal Kombat film, not really... don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. But I found the lack of actual Tournament was where the movie fell apart. If I was to rate it out of 10, it's a 7 or 8 for me.

Re mortal kombat - completely agree about the movie. It has some fun, great looking, fight scenes. Was the plot and characters a bit odd? Yes... But what did you expect... I know netherrealm has done well with the video games recently, but hollywood probably can't match that with so much money involved and too many cooks in the kitchen.
