Comments

So many comments about the Tyrion chapter... Not sure he’s entirely right about the use of his clansmen. Seems to me they’d have been pretty handy in the type of fighting he is involved in, in the next few chapters. It wasn’t all about being on the walls, or ‘formal battle’ where ‘discipline is more important than courage’. Love the indignation at the Antler men. ‘Why are we plagued with so many treasons? What injury has House Lannister ever done these wretches?’. Ummm...like sack the city, not care about or feed anyone, burn the houses and shops along the walls, let savages and sell swords run amok, look like you’re about to get beaten...I could go on. Cersei doesn’t get it and never has, but Tyrion has been told twice by Bywater in the last few weeks. There’s not even a touch of irony in Cersei’s ‘tasty table’ - the waste! Reminds me of Monty Python’s ‘what have the Romans ever done for us?’. When Tyrion reaches ‘for his father’s voice’ and tries to emulate Tywin, it made me wonder: WWTD (what would Tywin do)? I really doubt he’d threaten to rape and beat Tommen, thus proving he actually cares. I suspect Tywin would have looked at Alayaya and simply said ‘kill her, I couldn’t care less’. Finally, do you think it was Varys who told Cersei about Alayaya? Just seems too coincidental that Varys chose exactly that time to whisk Shea into Tyrion’s bedchamber, along with Cersei’s (probably fake) claim that she has other sources, and Varys spilling Tyrion’s plans with the Hound.
