Just like to point this out, your smile in the thumbnail is absolutely amazing

It's a strange situation, for sure. I don't really understand it either. It makes me wonder if these audiences want to live vicariously through these songs. I don't know.

Another thing is all of my favorite rappers have talked about playing the game where you make steryotypical music for the masses who listen to the radio so that the label excecutives will sign you. Kendrick, J Cole, Wale Jay Z etc have all mentioned this. It seems like Americans want to hear the violent-capades of black men. Look up Pooh Shiesty, his biggest songs, and then look at his concerts! So there is an aspect of this that's like suburban kids love to see a different way of life even if it's not real for them, it's just like watching Scarface

Great idea, you're becoming one of the best reactors out there! Yes I think hip hop is a violent genre but people are just talking about their real life. I think to some extent record execs and new rappers see the success of trap/drill/gangster rap and they think it's the only way. The hardest gangster rappers have massive white audiences at their shows. It's all very strange and misunderstood by society. I think that hip hop glorifies money and material objects partly because of our society we live in. America for the last 70 years has been the richest nation on earth. But the pesky 10-15% of the population is black and weren't allowed any of that. I think the fact that you have these utterly destitute and demoralized black folk, a few miles from the greatest wealth the world has ever seen all over America, really inspires the flashiness of black culture and even some of the crime.
