2024-05-16 00:26:19 +0000 UTCI always seem to have poor luck because I ended up watching this over three days because I had two different people call out last minute due to illness and I had to cover for them at my work. (I am also finally getting the chance to put together some items for my pets that were just delivered.) I did not remember this film by name when it was selected, but I did recall most of the plot when I learned which one it was. I still have the same feeling as I did when I first watched - it is a nice film, but the story is a little humdrum. (No insult to those that really like this film.)

It was Spam Musubi which is a Hawaiian style sushi made with Spam, Rice, and Seaweed. Also the term that Kona used to compliment Sidney, hot-dogger, was pretty common in Hawaii, which means someone who's a show off. I also think the reason Sidney carried around the unsigned contract at the end was because she wanted to show Gia and everyone proof that she didn't sell Makai because they didn't trust her word after she lied about being a surfer.
