NCT Dream ISTJ Album Review

Not a single song above a 7 for me and mostly it's an issue with the level of production.
I feel like Billlie raised the bar SOOOOO high for me cos production wise their team is what SM used to have and I think a lot of SM artist are missing out. Yes i'm aware their producers are previous SM producers!
BUT I must say I like a couple of the songs a lot more after the killing voice lol.

2023-07-30 13:43:58 +0000 UTCi wouldn’t say i hate this album, but there’re definitely some songs that i don’t really vibe with 😬 it’s surprising, because i loved all of their previous albums🤧even the songs that weren’t really my taste(diggity,fire alarm)😅 i actually expected much more, because someone said most of the writers and producers that have worked on this album are working with dream for the first time, i expected something new & something unexpected , but it sounded like another boygroup garage type of song😀but vocals are soooo amazing, song choices could’ve been better (SM🙄), definitely enjoyed their previous albums a lot more😄 AND I LOVE LIKE WE JUST MET, it’s so pretty 🤧(songs i liked are istj, broken melodies, poison, yogurt shake, like we just met,sos and blue wave have grown on me😁)it seems like i liked majority, but usually w their previous albums, i liked the whole album

2023-07-18 22:53:44 +0000 UTCThis album was a miss for me. It's sounds disjointed and like it was just thrown together but I know it wasn't just thrown together. I just saw the guys in concert back in April when Mark spoiled their album comeback so it's been in the works for some time at least, but the production is lacking. I don't know what happened to the quality but it just fell flat and it's unfortunate. Production aside, the overall musical style also wasn't my taste. I did enjoy Yogurt shake, Poison, and Like We Just Met. Broken Melodies grew on me after some time. It's not my style but I appreciate the vocals. Overall this is probably C-.

They were on fire for a while, but are definitely suffering from a creative void and I often find myself overstimulated from a visual standpoint, which feels like overcompensation for underwhelming lyrics, production, and overall song quality. A lot of content lately has felt "try-hard" and I find myself continuing to listen just because I've already been a fan this long and I haven't lost hope, but I can't say anything has gripped me lately save for a handful of songs across ALL their artists, can't even get banger after banger from the same groups anymore. Has me wondering if the recent drama sagas are holding them back, like management decisions are putting a damper on artistry.

2023-07-18 20:10:32 +0000 UTCabsolutely love the title track and poison. I get a really strong Michael feel in ISTJ— but I get that a lot with SM bgs on some occasions (He is the blueprint lol). The Dream unit’s overall musical output doesn’t really fit my taste but sometimes they release something that piques my interest. I remember a friend tweeting something about how it feels like there’s just a large folder of NCT tracks that the company pulls from and you can really hear some tracks that could’ve been 127 ones— but this album does give us those Dream ones as well.
