Early bird: Using a Retro 2G Phone in 2024
Added 2024-06-13 05:15:01 +0000 UTCI'm so glad to bring this project to you. As you will see it's quite a major undertaking involving some rather nifty use of both phone hacking devices and Apple Shortcuts (you could do the same on Android with Tasker).
This project has brought me significant joy, allowing me to both time travel back to a retro phone I lusted after in 2001, and to become even more digitally minimalist when around Babyfractic, simply so I am always present and in the moment, not distracted by a large smartphone screen and all the temptations and notifications therein.
That said I do appreciate this project might not be up everyone's street. If you aren't addicted to your smartphone or distracted by it, I'm envious and I say more USB-C power to you! However the addiction is as real as any other kind, as you'll see from the cited studies, and I'm first to admit I was a phone addict. This was the solution!
