Public Update/Patreon content thoughts

This is just a short update on the state of the VN as well as some rambling questions/ideas I had.
Update:
I'm going backwards a bit! I've been editing and revising the earlier parts of the VN to cut down on unnecessary bloat and repetitive parts. It's going well, and the first 5,000 lines are actually in the last update (2.2) if you want to go read them now!
The sprites need a slight reworking and I've started updating their outfits, if you want to see Rhoun's the sketches are available NOW for patrons! Next will be Marruk and then Marrowyn.
I'm a bit swamped until next month so no real work can get done on the next update, but after that I hope to get right back to it, you've got an important meeting to get too after all.

I was curious if there is interest in higher tiers of patreon content. I know most VN's implement multiple tiers, and the main reason I didn't was I was just nervous about getting everything going. I'm not totally sure what each tier would en-tail, but I'd love to hear suggestions and what you have to say on the topic! Usually it's free headshots and your name in the credits, but I'd love to hear other ideas.
More importantly. . . what should the discord name tiers be? I've been struggling to find a cute way to name the discord tiers with spaceship/crew themed names, but I'd love to hear your thoughts!

while i would not be able to afford a higher tier, i think a higher tier or two would be nice and would give you a little more wiggle room for you from the people who subscribe ( please still let us get the updates tho id cry if not )

Early script access is definitely one that'd entice me, but something like the credit mention and a headshot would also be neat. If it does go the headshot route, limiting that tier might be best for your workload (if that's a concern). Overall, I'm just happy to have the chance to support your work! I also think the current 5 dollar tier name, Executive Officer, would work perfectly for the tier role in the Discord. The 1 dollar tier could get something like Executive Assistant, while normal users stick with the Crew role. Keep up the great work!

2023-03-24 06:04:58 +0000 UTCI don't think there's a requirement to offer more benefits with a higher tier. But like you said, optional patron name credits and tightly limited personalized icon tiers are by far the most common. I've seen some VNs throw voting rights into the mix but that's more in the dating simulator genre where you have wildly different routes for each character. Some do alpha/script releases, some do side story creative writing extras that look at events involving the cast in non-cannon contexts or outside of the scope of the VN, but those feel even more intermittent or constraining to me. I don't have any great ideas for tier names, the only room above Executive in like a human corporate sense would be the C-Suite and the Board of Directors, but those kind of suck. As for discord roles, space fiction most often styles their ship organization after Navy models, so maybe you can find some inspiration there?

2023-03-21 16:21:48 +0000 UTCI kinda feel like only people who wants and can afford a higher tier could give good reason to add them, I personnaly dont see any reason to upgrade but that's the pov of a tier 2 guy who's fine with what he has
