Aja Monet: Revolutionary Poetry (Playlist – 4 Videos)

This week's episode of The Laura Flanders Show is all about the intersection of art, identity and revolution. In From the Creative Frontline of Lebanon's Revolution, Lebanese artist and activist Dayna Ash talks about grassroots organization during the protests in Beirut and founding Haven for Artists, one of the few safe spaces for LGBTQI+ people and women in the region.

Aja Monet is a revolutionary poet whose work explores many of the same themes touched upon by Laura and Dayna Ash in their conversation this week. Monet's poetry is inspiring and empowering. In this playlist, you'll see her read "Apologies to all the People in Lebanon" by June Jordan in addition to two of her own poems. We also included the full episode of The Laura Flanders Show featuring Aja Monet: Resistance and Revolutionary Poetry.

2. "We Are" by Aja Monet

3. "Dark Matter" by Aja Monet
