OP75: Two Devils

Frustration portrayed all over God's face as once again another of his attacks succumbed, Veyron only had to tap his foot and redirect the charge, that was all it took for him to fend off Enel's attacks.

It wasn't as simple. During the brief moment that it took, his body became a lightning conduct that charged the current back into the Earth, but all he could feel was slight pain.

His technique, however, was working. As expected Enel's devil fruit was one in a million and although his Psychokinesis could allow him to control magnetic fields, thus affecting lightning to a degree, he hadn't reached that stage yet.

His gaze then set on Peter Hornigold whose arm still bled, Veyron realised that the man's techniques vastly differed from Blackbeards'.
He hadn't used Black hole or Kurosu, the key techniques. But instead, he used two different ones: Shadow displacement and Corrosion. One allowed him to turn into darkness itself (something Blackbeard couldn't do) and the other created darkness that corroded everything it touched, as if devouring it.

The technique was admittedly deadly but it had a weakness, he needed to touch the target and that wasn't something Veyron was going to allow.

"Do something or we're going to die, Enel".
The CP0 agent grunted in disgrace and humiliation, unable to believe that a boy, not even a teenager, was playing with him like this.

"Bastard, what do you want me to do?!"
Enel felt helpless, he believed his devil fruit to be invincible and had truthfully fallen into Veyron's trap, one in which he was rendered to believe his fruit wasn't having any effect. In reality, if his attacks increased in voltage, they'd start giving him trouble.

But Enel had received his devil fruit just recently, his mastery of it was lacklustre at best.

"Tch, useless..."
An idea kept brewing in Peter's mind, especially as he looked to the side and saw the helpless state of his comrades in the CP0, the gradual thought of imminent death was brewing.

'Even if I die, as long as I take him with me...!'

"It doesn't matter whatever you two do, you're dying here anyway... my objective in coming here was that fruit".
Veyron pointed his sword at Enel, the one he'd kill first, though now more than ever he felt he was unprepared, although he didn't know how devil fruits worked, a widespread thought was that they birthed once more on a close fruit.
He hoped to reach Skypea and get himself a lot of fruits to carry around, a comical thought, but he didn't have the chance as chaos had unfolded too quickly.

'If I lose it... then I lost it, but these bastards are not getting away regardless'.

"The Goro Goro no Mi? How could you know I gave him that fruit? How could you even know it was here?"

"My Haki allows me to see far into the future, do you believe it?~".

"Liar..." Peter refused to believe someone's observation Haki could reach that degree, but the fact that he hadn't yet hit Veyron properly even once made him doubt that proposition.

With no other choice, he locked his wicked gaze on Enel who was preparing for another offensive.

"You want his fruit, right?~"

<Soru!>

*WHOOOSH!*

"Wha-"

*CRUNCH!*

Peter's arm pierced Enel's chest, making the man turn at him in disbelief. Even Veyron didn't expect this development and it was only then he recalled another gimmick of Blackbeard.

'No way...!'

"Since you're so useless, let me use this instead!".
<Devil Regime!>

Veyron frowned and saw how a gust of darkness was released from the man's arm before Enel's body fell down like a wingless parrot, a moveless corpse.

*THUD*

Just like that and with a gaze filled with remorse, the God of Skypea perished, Veyron groaned and readied for what was to come, a troublesome opponent.

*CHAA!*
A thunderstorm formed right after as lightning flowed out of Peter's body.

He had plundered Enel's fruit.

"Surprised, right?"

"..."

'It is indeed the Yami Yami no Mi that allows them to do that, that's the only thing they had in common'.

"You don't look surprised".

"Answer me a matter... how do you know my mother?"

"You want me to answer some questions before you die?~" The man's confidence seemed to have raised now, he even proactively approached Veyron unlike before, a big mistake.

"No, I want you to answer them because after you die, I don't know who to ask".

"Tch! Impertinent brat, just like her... I met her a year ago, protecting these two fruits as they were being delivered to Marie Geoise. We were attacked by the redhead pirates".
Peter took this time of grace to familiarise himself with the lightning fruit.

"Oh? So you ate the fruit and fled before my mother could put their hands on them?"

"No, I ate the Yami Yami no Mi to fight against her but got defeated miserably, trampled on, humiliated with no other option but to flee".

"I'd expect that from her too... that doesn't explain how you know that much about the Yami Yami no Mi, how do you even know it has this capability?".

"The origin of this fruit is the island where I have lived most of my life, Pirate Island... it is the fruit we all crave madly!".

'I thought he was Birkan, Pirate Island? I don't know what island that is'.

"I was thrown away from the skies at an early age, like a failure... not anymore. I'm fated to die now that I have eaten two logias, but... I'll take you with me, Dracule Veyron!"

*CHAA!!*

Veyron blocked instinctively, that speed was faster than Enel's.

A headbutt against his sword made Veyron realise that Peter was on another level compared to Enel who seemed to not be used to his newly acquired devil fruit.
His body shot back due to the impact that contained a lot more energy behind it, he regained his balance without a hitch, thinking what to do next.

"All logias work the same... they're truly a blessing of nature- *cough!*"

Peter spat black blood and smirked.

"It seems your body is no different, it can't take two devil fruits!"
*BOOOMMM!!* 
A sonic boom resonated, Veyron struck down with a sword coated in red lightning, it was his conqueror Haki in full throttle.

*CLANG!*
The sword was received by Peter whose sword was now not only darkness but also lighting!

*CLANG!*

*CLANG!*
Veyron's swordplay didn't resemble Mihawk's, he thought the boy's sword was more free and he used that ridiculous power of his to create a barrage of attacks that all came as a surprise, releasing his sword and picking it up again, slicing through his flesh several times.

"Ugh! Damn you!"

*BAANG!* 
A kick from Veyron sent him flying away, leaving a trail of soil before eventually coming to a stop against a gigantic rock.

*BOOOOMMMM!!* 
"One fruit or two... you're still weak".

*RUMBLE!!* 
Veyron walked towards the man, emitting a shattering energy.

Peter fell to his knees and watched his death sentence approach step by step. He saw how Veyron's sword started to compress and become smaller... until eventually it reached the size which he knew was Yoru's.

"You could have all the logias you want, and you'd still be unable to touch me. I have trained for two years with the intention of surpassing Monkey D. Garp, who do you even think you are? The moment you kidnapped Shawty, I already knew I was going to kill you, now you just gave me another reason".

"..." 
To accentuate his helplessness, Peter managed to stand up but the soil receded, unable to take the power of the 4th Haki. To this moment, all members of the CP0 in Skypea -alive or death- believed this was produced by the power of a devil fruit.
