But the story behind the song is that she wrote it on a Tuesday night, in 20 minutes, alone in her bedroom after her parents told her she couldn’t go out on a date. In true Taylor dramatic fashion, she stormed upstairs to her room and wrote Love Story. She said she wanted the tragedy to have a happy ending, so she changed it into a love story that ends with them together at the end.
