LGR Fifteen Years Later

https://youtu.be/VQ-RUn5lzgw

I can't believe this but... I'm celebrating 15 years of LGR! And when I first starting making these videos, the retro gaming and vintage computer scene looked quite different. So let's take a look back at how much the hobby has changed in the last decade and a half! Which is mostly for the better, I feel.

Thank you, genuinely. for your ongoing support, on here and elsewhere over the last fifteen years. It's been a blast and I certainly have no plans on stopping anytime soon :)

I could not get enough of your content when I first discovered you like 12 years ago, I found someone talking about all the old DOS games I loved and I was elated. Thank you so much Clint!

Aidan Munro

Congrats! LGR on 15 years! First time patron long time watcher.

GG, I´m not that long a viewer of yours(since 2021), but appreciate the content. And unfortunately in one thing you are right - prices for old hardware are skyrocketing. I don´t collect old PCs that much(would be a space issue) but older digicams and some handhelds like Psion and HP LX. Often people have very odd and outrageous ideas what these are worth. Like "oh hey, I throw in a carry case with dirt on it, some ancient memory cards with small capacity, some tele-converter that makes everything unsharp and that stuff alone means I can ask 300 bucks for that!" LOL, certainly not.

What a fun celebration. Love the connection you drew between vaporwave and urbex. I never thought of their relationship as anything but coincidence until now.

Oh wow. Yeah I feel like you've always been around, Gary. And yeah since 2015, so pretty much! Glad you're still here :)

LGR

Congrats. You were the first person I supported on Patreon.

Such an awesome vid! Ive appreciated your dedication to the craft for all of these years and its be really fun getting to know you through the bird streams recently...and your cynical side still comes out when someone mentions the sims anyway! haha! Looking forward to many many more years!

What a great video, glad to have been on this journey with you. I also felt very alone back in those days, like nobody cared about our games and systems, I never could have imagined the landscape we're in today.

Ryan Shapiro

Clint, I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos for at least 9 of your 15 years on YouTube. And I’ve said it before on Twitter, but after watching the IBM Unboxing, the power of the algorithm led me to a video from my current boss, and somehow I turned that into a job. The internet and YouTube is a big, weird place, and I hope to see you around on it for years to come.

Jamie Pilkey

Great work on these last 15 years. I was also surprised to see my a screen shot from my website showing off my QX-10 CF adapter, always fun to see my work show up in other peoples videos.

Brian Johnson

Well, of those billion of things you’d change if you did it all over again, I suppose that is all of the hard earned wisdom so you continue improving. Congrats on 15 years and bringing us along on this fun, retro journey.

Chad Armstrong

Great work!! Have to say I completely agree with the thrifting comments. It has been years since I walked into a Goodwill or other shop and found anything but piles of what I consider junk. I'm not there for clothes or sports stuff or glassware, I want my awesome random electronics back, dang it! lol Words can't express the little jolt of just pure happiness I get every time I get the notification that there is a new video. You are very much appreciated. Here's to many more years of fun!

Nachts

Thank You for the 15 years! Inspiring a new generation!

Thank you for giving some credit to where Linux is at right now. I'm so happy I could finally just ditch Windows entirely unless it is XP or 98SE.

I haven't been on the bus for the whole 15 years but am on the bus for the long run now. It was a pleasure to have met you at Computer Reset two years ago. Hard for me to believe its been that long but time flies when we're having fun and even when we're not.

Daniel Cayea

I am just going to fluff my ego and take responsibility for the mention of linux and proton, so excuse me while I sit over here and squee. Lol A great video man, some of the look backs gave me nostalgia chills. Heres to another 15 years of (Or however long you choose to, and continue to enjoy) doing LGR, LGR Blerbs, and the biggest and most important of all.. LGR foods :p

Honorary Octopus

you're awesome (and not lazy at all :D )

Bert Claes

Thank you, Clint, for fifteen years of LGR. You put together really great videos, on such interesting topics, and I'm really enjoying the bird streams these days, too. It's such a delight to see new videos from your channel(s), and I'm happy to continue my support.

Paul G

Excellent video! Congratulations on your success!

Be proud Clint... You've created a whole community of like-minded, curious and kind people that are drawn to your content with options everywhere. It says a lot about you, as a person, and how you've always treated your audience. Much respect to your commitment and dedication over the last 15 years, thanks for everything. Cheers!

Jeremy

Gratz! Ive been following off and on for most of that 15 and it makes me happy you're still going strong!
