The Flawed Case of Jodi Parrack

The Flawed Case of Jodi Parrack

Comments

This just occurred to me.. why don’t they use cellphone records/data to verify an alibi or use in a defense? It’s often used to incriminate someone, but I feel like this poor guys alibi could be easily validated. It’s devastating how far the legal system can go, whether right or wrong, if they REALLY want to…

This one is heartbreaking bc of ALL the innocent lives fractured by lousy police work in & around Constantine. No excuse, ESPECIALLY in modern day, for neighboring cities/counties not to consult w/ one another over mounting numbers of missing girls all around them. A young cop, Raymond, who thinking outside the box & knows kids dare each other around Halloween to go to cemetaries, suggests they check there. I truly don't understand those cops. Zero evidence. His life was killed by the cops. I wish they would have brought in expert interrogators from outside the area bc they'd likely detect he was being truthful. So many damaged lives bc of ineptitude. Jodi killed along w/ mamy other children, suffering parents & continued villification of an innocent man even when exonerated. Barney Fife could have done better.

Tina Prehogan

That poor man. Having his life ruined over something he didn't do and even after its proven that he didn't, ppl are still treating him like he did it. So messed up. I didn't know that little girl but does anybody think she would be happy that Ray is still suffering or would she want him to have his family back? Hmmm. Pretty sure she would want him to be loved.

Jennifer murphy

Great video as always. I wonder how you find so many cases to continue this channel, but I guess the work is horrible and bad people are always around. Keep safe and hope isolation is not too hard for you. ! thank you.

Oliver Pengilley

bit of an editing error at 21:53 !

Cassiel Winchester

I almost couldn't watch them interrogate him. I was so pissed! I'm usually on the cops' side but these men didn't give a shit about this man. They just wanted kudos for catching a monster.

Didi Cortez

Madness. This poor man has had his life completely tainted and damaged by the police officers zeroing in on him instead of remaining impartial and looking at the facts they had. Even if he did have something to do with it (which I, too, highly doubt based on their so-called evidence) he still shouldn't have had the whole town turn on him years before he was actually tried. Goes to show how these small towns are so polarised and become so fixated on one version of events. Great video though Mike! Keeping me sane which is what I need right now!

Emma Burke

That officer who said he has no regrets or nothing to apologize for. Is just a piece of shit. You ruined somebody's life because you refused to investigate the case because he had tunnel vision on one suspect. Makes me question how many people he had put away who are actually innocent. The hate directed toward Ray McCann should be redirected towards that POS of a Officer.

Chris Drake

I believed him 👍🏾 great video sweetheart

Minister Elana C Henderson

I have seen a few of those. Yes!

Sash Johnson

Yep.

princess.denyse

Absolutely. Have you ever watched any "Jim Can't swim" videos on YT? Super interesting interrogation techniques. ALWAYS request an attorney no matter what!

princess.denyse

Trying to close a case by focusing on one suspect? Unfortunately that shite happens all the time. The interrogation segments were fascinating. I've watched SO many JCS vids I actually wanted to scream at that dude, "LAWYER UP FOR FUCK'S SAKE!" Anyway, another interesting vid Mike - well done. Stay safe out there everybody. Cheers!

princess.denyse

Btw; I’m one of your faves... A CANADIAN!!!

Terri Benson

They ruined his life! I’m amazed that he stuck to his story over 13yrs! But, in fairness to the police, it seemed pretty sketchy w/ him suggesting to C/o the cemetery. There’s a fine-line there; where is it drawn? Especially when trying to find a child killer!

Terri Benson

I don’t understand why McCann kept talking to the investigators. He should have asked “Am I under arrest? Am I free to leave?” If he’s free - exit immediately and get a lawyer. If he isn’t free to leave - stop talking and get a lawyer!

Red37

4:50 so what was that move? How did they "rock up," again? 😂

S Shirai

Jeezo THAT was all twisty and turny oooft LOVED it ty ty ty x very difficult to know if Mr McCann was in fact innocent ( quite possibly ) or not 🤷‍♀️but I don’t know about you guys ... me ? I have trouble trusting ANYONE with the name McCann these days especially when it involves little girls ;0) x keep strong and safe everyone and share the lurv ❤️

Dorvita

Never talk to the police in the USA. Cops in some cities are very corrupt (like Chicago, where I live). They try to pin it on whoever is convenient, not the guilty party. McCann was not exonerated until Dec 2017. He gets $40,000 from the state from his wrongful conviction but until they start holding cops accountable and not just the tax payers, this will go on. Cops often strike me as thugs who wear uniforms (not all of them of course) and have power. It’s awful what they did to this guy. They ruined his life. Bastard police chief. He needs to have his life ruined. See how he likes it.

Marty Murphy

Another thing. This story was of course terrible. But the cop not being sorry for smashing that man’s life into the ground on very little to go on was very upsetting and unsettling.

Addie Alexander

Another great video. There was nothing about that man that made me feel he might be guilty. One of those cases where the world really was out to get him. It was also interesting because I believe this is the first time I’ve seen you cover a case that involved a child, even though it was the primary focus.

Laura J

Never talk to the police without an attorney! Because even if you are innocent, if they want to pin it on you, they won't quit until they do. This guy was innocent and he needed an attorney MORE than a guilty person because he had more to lose. Innocent people need an attorney when they talk to police. That's the lesson here.

Sash Johnson

dreadful policing

Emily POWELL

Finally! A video showing a McCann, who may, in fact, NOT be involved in the disappearance of a small girl.

Eddie Glass

I got the vibe he was telling the truth in those interviews, you could see his frustration and refused from the start to admit to the crime he said he hadn't committed , a very sad case really thankgod that little girl fought off the real killer and stopped him from further attacks.. Enjoyed this one alot cheers Mike 😊

Shazzzaa

Mike is on fire! Appreciate the constant flow, keep it up.

Paul Wevers

I agree, Mike. They ruined his life because they were suspicious and didn't even have much of a reason to be suspicious! What a brave and heroic little girl that was that escaped. She solved a murder and saved lives! She's amazing!

Beth Buchanan

Woah. This is insane. That poor guy.

Elle

Hurray! Thanks, Mike. ❤️

Catherine DeWitt

Tunnel vision is dangerous. Thank you for another great video Mike!

ScaryPoppins

People never say, “How can you know,” when a cop says they know something. Guilty or innocent people seem to accept the cop is telling the truth. That’s so nuts.
