I slowed way down on the illustrations because they're a lot of work--each one takes around 30-40 minutes to get right--and all I ever hear from anyone is complaints and nitpicks. Yes, a few people do express appreciation, but most are people complaining that the illustrations don't look like what THEY imagined (with not a single thought that they look like what I imagine) or people pointing out minor flaws from the AI itself. Just not worth the effort. I'm working on trying to put in one illustration to post with the chapter, but I only do that if I have nothing else to do after the final edit. And I did post a series of illustrations for LIS a few chapters back.
