INTEMPERANCE VI - Chapter 18, Decisions, Decisons

The Kingsleys and their nanny take a little trip together. Decisions are made after much pondering. Will Meghan keep working at her job? Will Celia be open to the KVA winery deal? Are the showers in the venue safe? What should one order at a traditional German restaurant? This is meant to be a mostly lighthearted chapter with some hints of seriousness in the Meghan story, which contains some significant insight into her psychology. But please don't take it TOO seriously. And let me know how I've done. Oh... and I know that Germany did not really invent beer, but Jake doesn't know that. So, no need to correct me on this point.

The Marriott Frankfurt is a hotel that is known for catering to American business travelers, so it did not seem unlikely that the alarm clocks in the rooms might be American style in 12-hour time. If that is not the case, then I will just have to hope that all my readers who are not German nationals will not lose their suspension of disbelief for the scene. And when I mentioned the state, I was not mentioning it as a German national speaking dialogue, but as an American writer speaking as the narrator of the tale who is acknowledging the fact that Germany does, in fact, have territorial divisions such as states just like America does. Glad I have been able to keep you entertained though.

Before I mention the nitpicks let me first say thanks for the many hours of entertainment youโ€™ve given us. Iโ€™ve been a fan since the SOL days and am really happy to be able to repay you in a small way ๐Ÿ˜„ Now my nitpick: Itโ€™s extremely uncommon to find a digital clock in Europe (and especially Germany) that shows time in 12h format (as opposed to 24h). So the subplot with the time confusion probably couldnโ€™t happen as written. Even more nitpicky, in Germany the state isnโ€™t usually mentioned when referring to a city by name.

Ulrich Petri

I might, but likely not in the SOL adult format, and not until Intemperance is finished.

Wonderful chapter ! Way to go, Meghan ! After I read your reference to the โ€œstrike zoneโ€ , I went back and re-read โ€œOvercome by Lustโ€ from your SOL days, one of my favorites. Do you think you will ever write any more short stories ?
